About The Event

Keep the New Year spirits alive, so we can show you this extraordinary, secret waterway at the southern end of Botany Bay, on a day when the tide is especially high. We have special permission to take you into this aquatic reserve, adored by all who experience it. A diverse estuarine wetlands, where you’ll see rare native vegetation, fish breeding grounds and valuable habitats for aquatic invertebrates and threatened birds. It is treasured by nature lovers. The day includes a cruise through the mangroves and swimming on white, sandy beaches (bring your camera and swimmers). In the afternoon, option to visit Captain Cook’s nearby landing point. Bring walking shoes. Meeting point is Kurnell. A quite extraordinary experience. Led by Cathy Miller and open to everyone.
